Welcome to
Shutter Mayhem Photography

I’m Tony Gordon, a photographer whose creative journey began not behind a camera, but on a stage.
For many years I played in bands, immersed in the energy, rhythm and atmosphere of live music. That experience shaped the way I see the world: how moments build, how emotions peak, and how small details can carry huge meaning.

When I first picked up a camera at live events, it felt like a natural extension of that musical background.
I already knew how to read a room, anticipate the decisive moment and respond instinctively to changing light and movement. In 2018, I decided to commit to photography more seriously, turning a passion into a focused creative practice.

I began with concerts and festivals, photographing environments I knew intimately from the inside. This allowed me to develop a strong documentary approach,.
Over time, that approach has evolved beyond live events into portrait and landscape photography, as well as the creation of a dedicated portrait studio. While the subjects may differ, the philosophy remains the same: to create images that feel natural, thoughtful and grounded in real moments. Whether I’m working in a controlled studio setting or responding to the unpredictability of the street photography, I’m always looking for authenticity, mood and a sense of story within the frame.

just recently last year, I’ve also found a passion with wedding photography. Weddings bring together everything I value as a photographer — emotion, connection, atmosphere and fleeting, unrepeatable moments. I’m especially drawn to the candid, unscripted parts of the day: the laughter between friends, the quiet exchanges that happen away from the crowd, and the in-between seconds that often say the most. I work unobtrusively, allowing couples to be fully present in their day while I document it as it naturally unfolds. My aim is to create images that feel honest, emotional and timeless, balancing documentary coverage with striking portraits and a creative use of available light.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with organisations locally in Shrewsbury, including Oktoberfest, Loopfest and the Food Festival, capturing events that celebrate community, culture and shared experience. I’m available for events, portraits and weddings across the Shropshire area.
